The Notah Begay III Foundation and Omaha Steaks are partnering during November to celebrate Native American Heritage Month.

“The relationship between Native Americans and bison has always been rooted in respect and reverence and that relationship continues to be celebrated today in tribal communities across the country,” reads a letter from Crystal Echo Hawk, execute director of the NB3 Foundation.

Golden Plains Foods, from Omaha Steaks has recently added a lineup of bison products to its portfolio. To celebrate Native American Heritage Month, Golden Plains Foods has partnered with the NB3 Foundation and is offering select bison gift packs where 10 percent of the sales will go to the foundation when buyers use the code YD0530.

Why have the two partnered? “The NB3 Foundation has been working to battle the Type 2 diabetes epidemic in the Native American population since 2005. An important part of that battle is eating well,” Echo Hawk says in the letter. “Golden Plains bison is high in protein, low in fat, antibiotic free and has no added hormones. In addition, it tastes great.”

Purchase a pack for yourself or as a gift, and help the NB3 Foundation at the same time. For more information, visit the Omaha Steaks website.
