The federal Bureau of Indian Affairs has received letters from politicians, educators, business leaders and citizens opposing a casino proposed by the Shawnee tribe. The bureau is considering the tribe's request to put land near Remington Park horse racing track in Oklahoma City into trust. If the bureau agrees the tribe plans to build a Las Vegas-style hotel and casino.
