The Mill Casino is on what's considered reservation land. Thus, the Coquille Indian Tribe doesn't have to pay the local property and room taxes. However, it's been doing so for several years...until recently. After a 14-year-long agreement with the city of North Bend to pay a room tax similar to other hoteliers in the city, the Coquille Indian Tribe is withholding a three-month payment.
