North Carolina Gov. Beverly Perdue says the state hasn't ruled out Las Vegas-style card games at a Cherokee Indian casino in the Great Smoky Mountains. The Asheville Citizen-Times reported Tuesday that Perdue said state officials and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians have no negotiations under way to expand gambling at the 11-year-old casino. Perdue says working out a state budget and dealing with the recession have taken priority since she took office in January.
