Navajo Student Crosses the Finish Line

A Native American student is the first in her category to cross the finish line during a recent 5K dash at Arizona State University.

A Native American student was the first in her category to cross the finish line at the First Annual Sparky’s Twilight 5K Dash held October 23 on Arizona State University’s west campus.

Kimberly K. Bigman, Navajo, is originally from LeChee, Arizona and is a member of the Native American Student Organization at ASU-West. She is studying special education at the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, and is a student teacher.

Before the race, Kimberly said she wanted to be the first female runner to cross the finish line—mission accomplished.
