Navajo Nation Council Naabik’iyaki Committee Endorses Kirkpatrick

Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick earned the endorsement of the Navajo Nation Council Naabik’iyaki Committee for re-election come November.

The Kirkpatrick For Arizona campaign announced recently that Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick earned the Navajo Nation Council Naabik’iyati Committee’s endorsement for re-election during its July 31 meeting.

“Ann has extensive experience in sorting through the unique and often complex issues of the Navajo Nation, which is rare among elected officials,” said Navajo Nation Delegate Jonathan Nez. “Ann also has a proven record of delivering results and advocating on behalf of Navajo people."

Citing Kirkpatrick’s longstanding commitment and respect for tribal sovereignty, her successful work on behalf of Native American veterans as well as her leadership in closing a loophole that excluded Native American women from the Violence Against Women Act, among other efforts, the committee voted to support and endorse the congresswoman in her re-election bid.

"Ya’ateeh shi’ke shi’dine’. It is my great honor to represent the Navajo Nation. I work for you in Washington and will continue to fight for the Navajo people each and every day," Kirkpatrick said.
