The Oglala Sioux Tribe will redirect tribal funds from a domestic violence shelter in Kyle to reopen the Standing Strong Woman House (Ohitika) shelter in Rapid City while it awaits a financial review of the two shelters’ parent organization, Cangleska, according to interim co-director Wayne Weston. Cangleska’s ongoing financial issues led to the suspension of longtime director Karen Artichoker and other managers, including her brother, Ben Artichoker, in July.
