VALLEY CENTER, Calif. – Native Threads is putting the call out to Native artists to compete head-to-head in a T-shirt design contest to be honored as Native Thread’s Guest Artist of The Quarter.
All submitted designs will be posted on the company’s Web site and will allow anyone to vote for their favorite design.
The artist’s design with the most votes will win the contest and see their design become a Native Threads T-shirt available for purchase online and at retail partner locations throughout the United States and Canada. The winning artist will also be featured on the Native Profiles section of the company’s Web site as well as receive a $500 check and a $100 Native Threads online store credit.
“With this contest in place, and the technology to support it, our Native Threads customers now have the power to decide what designs go into production, said Randy Bardwell, company president and member of the Pechanga Band of Mission Luiseno Indians. “User generated content is the next frontier in terms of apparel design and we intend to continue to ride the cutting edge by taking input from our community.
“Not only does this contest represent a leap in business models, it allows our brand to remain connected to our culture through our people and their artwork. We are really excited to see what the artists create and how this contest can further their career.
To enter the contest visit the Web site. Deadline for submissions is July 31.
