The Seminole Tribe of Florida Native Learning Center will hold its 2012 Winter Symposium January 24-26 at Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

There will be courses offered in Housing Strategies including Corporations Law for Tribal Housing Entities, Sustainable Development with Recovery Act Funds and Culturally and Environmentally Responsive Design. Courses in Grant Education including Grant Writing for Tribal and Urban Organizations, Successful Technology Based Grant Writing and Dissecting a Notice of Funding Availability. Courses in Celebrating Culture and Language include Protecting American Indian Arts and Culture, American Indian Cultural Preservation and Marketing Your Art Creations in a Global Economy. Any Native American, especially tribal members and community leaders interested in gaining skills and knowledge in key areas important to their communities should attend. The symposium is also open to employees of Native American businesses and communities.
