Breath of Life Archival Institute for Indigenous Languages will be held in June 2011, in Washington, DC, Falmouth Institute reported. The two-day workshop, expecting up to 40 participants and 20 mentors, is geared toward Native American heritage language learners, teachers, and activists. Participants will learn how to find and use archival materials in their own languages. Organizers hope that the event will facilitate building networks between members of different language communities and strengthen the relationship between linguists and language preservation activists.
