Native Americans in Lassen County take great pride in continuing their culture, and that pride burns brightly when the Susanville Indian Rancheria hosts the inaugural Memorial Powwow Friday, May 21 through Sunday, May 23. Modern powwows offer members of different tribal groups an opportunity to gather together to share and celebrate their Native American heritage with dancing, music, drum circles, food, games, art exhibits and song.
