A bill being considered in the Tennessee House and Senate has sparked controversy with a Native American tribe out of Oklahoma. Members of the Muscogee Creek Nation were in Nashville Tuesday to protest the passage of a bill that would recognize groups of Indian descendants as tribal governments in Tennessee. The problem they have with the bill is that a long recognition process to become federally accredited must be endured to become an Indian nation.
