Native American Languages To Be Discussed Today

Tribal College president Richard Littlebear will discuss the importance of Native American languages at the University of Montana this afternoon.

Richard Littlebear, the president of Chief Dull Knife College in Lame Deer, Montana will speak at 4 p.m. today at the University of Montana about "The Challenges of Native American Bilingualism in the American Education System."

"One of the obstacles to teaching Native languages are parents who may have bought into thinking that English is the only way," Littlebear told The Kaimin, the school's newspaper.

The lecture will take place in Room 101 of the Law Building.
