Comparing the Oneida Indian Nation’s entrepreneurial spirit to the visionaries who transformed a bone-dry desert into today’s Las Vegas, nationally syndicated radio and TV host Armstrong Williams applauds the tribe’s 20 years of innovation in the column “Oneida Indians Revive Upstate NY.”
Williams points to Turning Stone Resort Casino’s newest addition, the $25 million multi-entertainment venue Exit 33 in Verona, New York.
“Had this new attraction opened around New York City it would have hardly caused a stir, but this project was pursued in a sleepy part of the state hardly known for dining and entertainment,” Williams states.
“Remarkably, it was undertaken by the same group of Native Americans who fought alongside George Washington and his men during the Revolutionary War. Today they are helping transform this country’s landscape while delivering entertainment and creating hundreds of jobs in the process.”
