National Indian Days starts Thursday


A ceremony welcoming Yakama tribal members' return to their traditional hunting and food gathering practices Thursday will open the four-day National Indian Days celebration. A powwow begins Friday at the nearby pavilion. Tribal dancers from across the Northwest will compete in various dance competitions. Powwow grand entries are 7 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, with a final entry at 1 p.m. Sunday.
