The prolific pop star Prince, whose music and sexy performances inspired generations of music makers and love makers, died Thursday, The Associated Press reported. He was 57.
TMZ reported that early Thursday police were investigating a death at the singer and songwriter's estate in Paisley Park, Minnesota. Several hours later, Prince's publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, confirmed the deceased was Prince.
Immediately following the sad news, tributes by Native American fans of the late music legend, including hip-hop artists Frank Waln and Gyasi Ross, flooded social media:
During a career that spanned nearly four decades, Prince released 39 albums. In 2004, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The New York Timesreported.
Prince was peforming and recording up until his death on Thursday, the AP reported.
