Murdered man discovered on reservation

HEMET, Calif. – A dead man was discovered by Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies at a home on the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians Reservation July 12.

Deputies responded to an early morning 911 call of a shooting and pursued the suspect for a short time. The suspect’s vehicle, a white GMC pickup, returned to a home on the reservation, according to a press release.

Deputies talked the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Larry Charles Arres, a resident of the Soboba Reservation, out of the home and he was arrested. He was charged with murder, burglary, possession of a controlled substance and firearm and reckless driving.

Wire services identified the victim as Benjamin Dee Lindsey.

Deputies received full cooperation from the tribe.
