Mountains, Milky Way and an Active Volcano: More Time-Lapse Video Wonder

[node:summary]Singapore photographer Justin Ng tries his hand at time-lapse astronomical video, and succeeds mightily.

We can't get enough of our time-lapsed sky over alpine meadows alternating with dancing stars set to lilting piano music. Luckily neither can the photo-astronomers who create them.

This one features the magnificent Milky Way, roiling mist and an active volcano, to boot.

"I first visited Mount Bromo in April 2012 for 2 nights and I was so fascinated by the many possibilities that this amazing landscape can offer and so I decided to revisit Mount Bromo and made my first time-lapse movie there," writes Justin Ng, the Singapore photographer who created the video based on footage he took between May 26 and June 6, 2012 in Indonesia. "My goal was to capture the beautiful Milky Way galaxy and sunrise along with the three volcanoes, namely Mount Bromo, Mount Semeru and Mount Batok."

Ng is billed by as an "amateur astronomer"—an understatement if there ever was one.
