Mashantucket Pequot dancers honor ancestors’ spirits


Eastern Connecticut Indian tribe members gloried in their ancestors Wednesday and reveled in one thing the ancients didn’t have — air conditioning. “It’s tough out there,” Albert Zamora, a member of the Mashantucket Pequot tribe, said after doing a grass dance during the first day of his tribe’s Museum Educational Powwow. “I can stand the heat, but the humidity is tough.”
