Lower Puyallup River to close to sport fishing twice a week during this month

State Fish and Wildlife has decided to close the sport fishery for two days a week in the Lower Puyallup River over safety concerns about gear conflicts and other disputes between sport and tribal anglers, a news release indicated. Sport salmon fishing will be closed from noon Sundays to noon Tuesdays on Sept. 13-15, Sept. 20-22 and Sept. 27-29 from the 11th Street Bridge in Tacoma to the City of Puyallup Outfall Structure across the river from the junction of Freeman Road and North Levee Road.
