Klamath comment

Klamath River issues are complex and can be confusing. The proposed dam removal deal and a controversial water deal have been artificially linked together and promoted as mutually essential. The proposed deals – packaged as the proposed Klamath Basin Restoration Agreement have split Klamath River Basin tribes, created conflicts within tribes and have also split the environmental, commercial and sport fishing communities.

I have been involved in Klamath River issues since 1986 and have worked in social services for two of the tribes involved. The confusion – some of which is intentional – and the secrecy imposed on negotiations, is why I founded KlamBlog (www.Klam to provide information to the people that others don’t want them to have. Please check it out and please seek diverse voices when you write about Klamath River issues.

Thanks for your excellent publication.
