The tribe will receive nearly $34,000 from the U.S. Department of Justice. The funding is awarded under the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant program and can be used to hire new personnel or buy equipment, according to U.S. Rep. Tom Udall, D-N.M. "This grant program has been instrumental in helping our law enforcement fight crime,'' Udall said Tuesday in announcing the grant. Rio Arriba County will receive $11,933 under the same program. Udall is a member of the House Democratic leadership team.
