Is Huxley’s Brave New World Racist?

Aldous Huxley's classic novel Brave New World that has been rated by Modern Library as No. 18 in its list of the "100 Best Novels" of all times, has been removed from the curriculum of Nathan Hale High School in Seattle, says Curtis Cartie of Seattle Blogs.

Request to ban the book came not from the Orwellian Big Brother but from a Native American mother who found its language offensive and racially inappropriate.

Her criticism of Huxley’s bestseller is more than ironic as BraveNewWorld is a satire of the dystopian “civilized” society where “savage reservations” are the only remaining oases of sanity and humanity.
