Indian tribe seeking site for casino

The Eastern Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma is still interested in opening casinos in Ohio, but there is no immediate push to move into the state, Chief Glenna Wallace said Thursday. ''Those are our homelands and of course we're interested,'' she said in a telephone interview. Clark Hosick, executive director of the nonprofit Native American Educational Services and former head of the North American Indian Cultural Center in Akron, recently created a stir at the Summit County Office Building by requesting tax maps for possible sites for an Eastern Shawnee casino.
