If you’re looking for a career that will allow you to contribute to a rewarding mission, look no further. The Indian Health Service (IHS) is an innovative, dynamic, nationwide organization of public health professionals working to meet the individual health care needs of 2.2 million American Indians and Alaska Natives.

Our health care professionals work in interdisciplinary teams, providing patient-centered care to culturally rich populations with proud traditions and unique heritages to share.

You can apply through the civil service, as an officer in the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) Commissioned Corps, or directly to Tribal or Urban Indian Programs.

Our clinicians are eligible to apply for the IHS Loan Repayment Program (LRP), which repays qualified health profession education loans — up to $40,000 in exchange for an initial two-year service commitment at an approved IHS site.

And with IHS, you can live and work in some of the most beautiful areas of the country, close to a spectacular array of recreational activities and outdoor pursuits.

Professionally rewarding and personally fulfilling. Explore a world of opportunities at www.ihs.gov/jobs or contact IHSRecruiters@ihs.gov.

The policy of the IHS is to provide absolute preference to qualified Indian applicants and employees who are suitable for federal employment in filling vacancies within the IHS. IHS is an equal opportunity employer.
