House lawmakers on Wednesday approved legislation granting federal recognition to six Virginia Indian tribes, placing the matter in the hands of the Senate and putting the groups one step closer to their decade-long goal. "We're very hopeful, but we know there's a lot of work to be done," said Wayne Adkins, an assistant chief with the Chickahominy Indian tribe.
