Holy Road

Virginia LaFrombois Baker was born Aug. 12, 1933 in Belcourt, N.D. to Delia and Louis LaFrombois.

She was one of seven children. She married Marvin Baker June 15, 1956, and they had five children.

Virginia had a long journey in this life. At the tender age of 16, she left home to pursue her career path in life; care giving and nursing. She cared for many with her big heart and parental instinct. She was mom to many and grandma to all.

All of us who have had the honor and privilege of crossing the path of Virginia will remember the many stories she shared of life. She never stayed put long; her love for travel took her far and wide. One of her favorite places she talked about was Casa Blanca, where she traveled with her husband during his time in the Air Force.

Virginia was petite and stood only 5 feet tall. For someone so small she was great to all, as many looked to and up to her through the years.

Virginia is survived by her husband Marvin Baker, five children; Marvin Ernest, Bobbie Lynn (Johnathon Dunham), Irving Lee (Benita), Roger David, Vernon Dale (Jami); granddaughter Jamie Ann and two great-granddaughters Nariah Elaine and Izabella Marie; granddaughter Kelsi Lynne; grandsons Dallas Daniel Francis and Riley James; niece Florence Kay and numerous nieces, nephews, adopted family, friends and many more.

A memorial service was held Sept. 5 to celebrate her life. More photos of Virginia can be viewed online.

You will be missed and never forgotten. We celebrate you, your life and your teachings. We love you and thank you.

“Virgie for short, but not for long.”
