Haskell Indian Nations University, established in 1884 by the U.S. government to assimilate Indigenous students, has transformed itself over its long history into a premiere institute of higher learning for Nations all over the country.

Recent funding cuts by the government have directly affected affected Haskell, especially their athletics programs, specifically their football program. The University is hoping they can retain a program which they feel has shaped the young men as much off the field as it has on it. They're asking for any donations in the form of money, attendance at games, or spiritually.

New coach Jimmy Synder has implemented an incredibly robust training program for the team in the off-season. In an open letter to fans and supporters, Synder wrote, "Everyday, we walk past a sign outside our locker room that reads, 'Have you made your ancestors proud today?' We want a chance to do just that."
