Tax Day has come and gone, but did your accountant tell you where your tax dollars are going? Assuming, that is, that you were not of the nearly eight out of 10 U.S. tax filers to receive a refund.
In 2011, President Obama told the country in his State of the Union address that taxpayers would be able to go online and find out how their hard-earned federal tax dollars were divvied.
Are you curious?
Log on to WhiteHouse.gov, which will give an individual breakdown of how those dollars were spent. The site says that after you provide your 2014 income tax information (from line 11 of Form 1040EZ or line 55 of Form 1040), a taxpayer receipt will be drawn up on your behalf. The receipt shows you how your tax dollars were spent on "America’s priorities": education, veteran benefits, and health care, for example.

Happy post Tax Day.
