Groups join to demonstrate emergency response

Washoe County sheriff's search and rescue officers have joined Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe members to demonstrate how they cooperate in responding to emergencies at the Indian reservation north of Reno. Sgt. Art Glass says the Tuesday demonstration was the first of several federally funded exercises aimed at dealing with hazardous materials on rural highways, railways and lakes. Glass says the exercise was meant to get first-responders familiar with tools used by other agencies.
