Groundbreaking Thursday for SW Mich. tribal casino

A groundbreaking ceremony is set for the state's newest tribal casino. The Gun Lake Tribe of Pottawatomi Indians breaks ground Thursday on the $157 million Gun Lake Casino. It will be built near Wayland, about 20 miles south of Grand Rapids. The tribe says construction should take 10 to 12 months. The casino will measure about 83,000 square feet, about half the size originally planned. Tribal Chairman D.K. Sprague has said the casino may be expanded as the economy recovers.
