Grand Ronde Tribal Chairwoman Cheryle Kennedy of Dallas received the Fran James Cultural Preservation Award on Saturday at the Potlatch Fund's seventh annual Gala in Seattle. The award is named after a Lummi Tribal member whose leadership in cultural preservation revived and continued the traditional weaving and basketry skills of the Lummi people.
