Galanda named to list of America’s ‘Best Lawyers’


SEATTLE – Attorney Gabe Galanda, Nomlaki/Concow/Round Valley, has been included for the third consecutive year in “The Best Lawyers in America,” a yearly reference guide issued by the peer-review publication Best Lawyers.

Honorees are selected based on evaluations by other attorneys throughout the U.S. The guide will be circulated to more than 200,000 subscribers worldwide. Excerpts from the list will be viewed by an estimated 44,000 general counsel nationwide, as well as by millions of readers who subscribe to national and regional publications, such as The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times and New York magazine.

Galanda was honored for his work in American Indian Law. He is a 2000 graduate of the University of Arizona College of Law. He is a past president of the Northwest Indian Bar Association and was involved in the effort to include American Indian law in the Washington State Bar exam.

Galanda is a member of the Seattle office of the law firm Williams Kastner, specializing in complex, multi-party American Indian law and gaming litigation. He also assists tribal governments and Alaska Native corporations with economic development and diversification initiatives, and works with corporate entities that do business in Indian country.

Galanda has written about American Indian legal issues for various national journals and newspapers, including Indian Country Today. He also edits the Indian Law Newsletter and serves on the editorial board of Gaming Law Review.
