In the fashion world, hair can be its own accessory. In the Native community, hair is an expression of pride and heritage.
And Wisconsin’s Bronson Koenig has managed to draw eyeballs to his hair as a fashion statement, and as an expression of pride. Koenig donned a buzz cut with what appears to be an eagle feather cut into his hair as an homage to American Indians and his Ho-Chunk heritage.
Koenig shared several photos of his new cut on social media. On Instagram he wrote, "When your barber has a PhD from Harvard.. [sic] #NativePride."
And on Twitter, Wisconsin Basketball posted this:
A 4-year-old from Eastern Band of Cherokee, N.C., is excited to get a Shoni Schimmel autographed ball.
The rising junior is heavily favored to be the Badgers starting point guard next season after his standout performance in the national championship game, which ended in a loss against Duke. Last season, Koenig averaged 11.3 points and 2.8 assists per game.
Hey, we just want to know…who’s his barber?
