Officials of Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College and the College of St. Scholastica have worked out a new transfer agreement to benefit students preparing for careers as registered nurses. It provides enhanced classroom opportunities and eases credit transfer. Two-year nursing students at the tribal college will be able to continue at St. Scholastica to earn a four-year bachelor of arts degree in nursing. The proactive strategy was developed to help ease the shortage of registered nurses in the region's health care industry. This is the first transfer agreement between the institutions and additional efforts will continue in the future, officials said.
