SPRINGDALE, Ark. – The Flintco Companies, Inc. has received a Construction Safety Excellence Award from the Associated General Contractors of America in recognition of having one of the top three safety programs in the nation. This is the sixth time since 1999 that the company has achieved this prestigious honor.

“Being recognized is an honor, but of most importance, it is affirmation of this company’s continued commitment to safety, that assures everyone who visits our sites are safe,” Flintco’s CEO Tom Maxwell said.

Division President Kevin Moyes added, “Our employees are the ones that make it happen. To have more than 3.5 million work hours without a lost time accident is a terrific testament to their daily commitment to safety.”

“There’s no better measure of a company’s commitment to quality than the strength of their safety program,” said Doug Pruitt, AGC’s past-president, who announced this year’s winners at the national conference. “While completing magnificent projects is important, protecting hard working employees is essential in this industry.”

The Construction Safety Excellence Award winners are selected by a panel of five independent safety professionals within the government, corporate and insurance industries. The Flintco Companies’ was singled out for this award based on its exceptional safety record and innovations.

One aspect of The Flintco Companies safety practices is its Go-Up program. Go-Up focuses on providing training for Native American workforces on its projects and for the Native American communities it serves.

In addition to its Go-Up program, Flintco provides industry influence through its extensive training programs for everyone on its constructions sites, conducting 19,000 safety sessions last year. Also, Flintco has displayed its innovation by developing the first national crane signal person certification and providing the test preparation and test for certification.

While Flintco has been recognized by the AGC multiple times in recent years, Corporate Safety Director Rocky Rowlett said the company continues to explore areas where it can get better. “We continue to challenge ourselves on how to improve.”
