Fire death on Manitoba reserve treated as homicide

A fire on Shamattawa First Nation in Manitoba that is suspected of killing an 11-year-old boy is being treated as an arson-related homicide, police said Thursday. Police have a 16-year-old boy from the community in custody, but no charges have been laid. It is believed the victim was under the care of Child and Family Services and visiting his grandparents, who lived in the home that was destroyed.
