The empty 19th century feathered Yankton Sioux headdress, with flowing eagle feathers and colorful bead work, in the middle of the room might suggest the exhibit it's part of is about an extinct culture. But, by the time you get to the end, you realize Plains Indians are still a vibrant culture making art with modern materials.
