Creeks silent on land proposal

Legislation passed by the Muscogee (Creek) Nation council to allow the tribe's chief to buy land in Tulsa County for a planned bridge between south Tulsa and Jenks is not open to the public, including tribal citizens, the council's speaker said Wednesday. The Tulsa World requested a copy of the legislation, which the National Council passed Saturday at its regular meeting.
