The Muscogee (Creek) Nation's chief has asked a court to order the tribe's National Council to fund a special election on constitutional amendments — including one that would pare the council. Chief A.D. Ellis filed the lawsuit against the council with the tribe's Supreme Court. He also asked that the tribe's general election in September be postponed until the special election is held.
