The Ways and Means Committee of the Cayuga County Legislature Monday decided to withdraw foreclosure proceedings for two parcels of property owned by the Cayuga Indian Nation. The committee's 3-2 vote to halt foreclosure on the two properties in Union Springs and Springport, for which a total of $34,656 in taxes is owed, comes after a recent decision in Oneida County court that prohibited the county from foreclosing on Oneida Indian Nation property.
