A member of the Navaho Tribe has been sentenced in federal court in Moscow to 41 months in prison for assault with a deadly weapon. U.S. District Judge Edward Lodge also gave Robert Yazzie, 24, a $1,000 fine and three years of supervised release following his prison term. The charge stemmed from a September 1999 attack at the reservation in which Yazzie, of Spokane, Wash., admitted making advances to a female acquaintance, then breaking into her bedroom and holding a knife to her neck. The woman escaped and Yazzie fled.
