Author:

Cliff Cultee has been elected to a one-year term as chairman of the Lummi Indian Business Council. On Tuesday, Nov. 2, Cultee was chosen after two rounds of balloting among the 11 members of the tribe's governing body, beating out Bernie Thomas and Cheryl Sanders.
Cultee, in his second year on the council, is a fisherman who gillnets for salmon and dives for geoduck, among other things. He replaces Henry Cagey, who lost his seat on the council after he was defeated by Steven Toby by a two-vote margin.
