DURANT, Okla. – Deborah Locey won a $128,447 Spell Binder MegaJackpot on a penny machine at the Choctaw Casino Resort July 12.
The winner is from Achille, Okla., and said she wasn’t sure what drew her to the winning machine, “I turned around and just played the closest machine” she said. After investing only $60, Locey reported feeling lucky. “I knew I was going to win. I kept getting two out of three” the winner commented. When asked about her immediate plans, the MegaJackpot winner said she was excited to share news of her win with her daughter and plans to use her winnings to pay off her house.
Monday’s jackpot is the third MegaJackpot to be paid at the Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant so far this year, bringing the 2010 MegaJackpot payout to an impressive $1.3 million. Earlier this year, on April 24, the casino paid a $147,081 Joker’s Wild MegaJackpot on a quarter machine. And on March 5, the casino awarded an incredible $1,091,548 Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 3-D Slot MegaJackpot on a penny machine. The Choctaw Casino Resort was the very first casino in Oklahoma to award a MegaJackpot prize in September 2006.
The casino now has awarded a total of nine MegaJackpot prizes totaling nearly $4 million on a variety of IGT progressive systems including, a $441,457 penny MegaJackpot that hit on a The Beverly Hillbillies machine, and a $155,277 Jeopardy! MegaJackpot that hit on a one-dollar progressive.
