CATOOSA, Okla. – Cherokee Nation Businesses has purchased an IT solutions company based in Fort Collins, Colo. The company, Information Technology Experts, Inc. is northern Colorado’s leading full-service computer and information technology support services company, providing multi-tier help desk support, wireless network design, and software development to both commercial and government clients for more than 15 years.

The acquisition of ITX will be a cornerstone of Cherokee Nation Businesses’ IT portfolio of companies.

“When we diversify and grow the Cherokee Nation’s business units, we have a unique opportunity to provide funding to the tribe, as well as create meaningful jobs for Cherokee citizens,” said David Stewart, chief executive officer, Cherokee Nation Businesses. “We believe that ITX will be a valuable addition to Cherokee Nation’s portfolio of businesses.”

ITX has significant experience in full service IT solutions, which will create opportunities for growth, not only within the Cherokee Nation, but in surrounding communities as well.

“This acquisition allows us to build on IT expertise that already existed within our businesses,” said Steven Bilby, president of Cherokee Nation Businesses’ IT portfolio. “It gives CNB new capabilities, in growing sectors of information technology.”

ITX’ strong relationships in government contracting, good commercial practices, award-winning customer service, and a business model that can be replicated in Oklahoma and other parts of the country will allow CNB to make the company even more successful and profitable in the future.

“The acquisition will provide opportunities for growth and profit within the Cherokee Nation,” Bilby said. “This is a great opportunity for the Cherokee Nation and ITX.”

The purchase of ITX adds additional services and areas of expertise to CNB’s array of business holdings. The acquisition of ITX could also add hundreds of jobs in Oklahoma and other states over the next five years. ITX currently employs nearly 250 employees in 24 states.

“We are confident ITX will help us grow and diversify,” Bilby said. “ITX is known for providing best-value IT solutions and award-winning customer service. With the leadership of CNB and the resources of the Cherokee Nation, ITX will continue to deliver exceptional products and service on a larger scale.”

ITX is managed by parent company Cherokee Nation Businesses but will continue to operate under the name Internet Technology Experts. This will aid in leveraging the strength, experience and expertise of both entities.

Cherokee Nation Businesses is a wholly-owned corporation of the Cherokee Nation and serves as the holding company for all of the Cherokee Nation’s for-profit entities, including Cherokee Nation Enterprises, Cherokee Nation Industries, Cherokee CRC and other companies. Cherokee Nation Businesses’ mission is to grow the economy of the Cherokee Nation through diversification and create jobs in northeast Oklahoma.
