For some Catawba Indian families, driving home can turn into an adventure. Two dozen or so houses on the tribe's reservation east of Rock Hill are reachable only by dirt and gravel roads. Potholes are bad enough, but floods that occur after heavy rains can make travel even more treacherous, tribal members say.
