Caffeine Boosts Memory for at Least 24 Hours

Your daily morning caffeine jolt may be improving your memory, at least for a day.

Johns Hopkins University researchers showed test subjects a series of images and then gave some of them 200 milligrams of caffeine in the form of a double espresso. Those on caffeine as opposed to a placebo more correctly identified the similar images from a lineup the next day.

“Caffeine is associated with longevity and may have some protective effects from cognitive decline like Alzheimer’s disease,” Michael Yassa, an assistant professor of psychological and brain science, told the AP.
