The U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs concluded a legislative hearing last week regarding a senate bill to settle land claims within the Fort Hall Reservation.
Senate Bill 2802, the Blackfoot River Land Settlement Act of 2009, was introduced in November by Idaho Senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch. Representatives Mike Simpson and Walt Minnick introduced the companion bill to S. 2802 in the House and it has been referred to the House Committee on Natural Resources.
