Just before Notah Begay’s seventh annual Notah Begay III Foundation Challenge began on Wednesday, Begay and his good friend Tiger Woods took part in a challenge of their own.
The Stanford alumnus and PGA Tour winners, assisted with the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by dousing Oneida Indian Nation CEO Ray Halbritter and NBC Golf Analyst Mark Rolfing in ice-cold water.
The challenge was accepted during the sponsor’s reception at the Turning Stone Resort Casino’s Atunyote Golf Club.
"Once again, this event has been a truly impressive display of how passion and collaboration can help the Foundation educate the public and raise funds to combat the obesity and type 2 diabetes epidemics facing Indian Country," Begay told Syracuse.com. "My sincerest gratitude goes out to all the talented athletes, the golf fans of Central New York, and our friends and partners - the Oneida Indian Nation."
