Barbour plans to hire own lawyer to fight Choctaw casino in Jones

Gov. Haley R. Barbour says he will hire his own lawyer and pursue legal action to stop the proposed Choctaw Indian casino in Jones County after he accused the state Attorney General of violating attorney-client privilege. Barbour, in a letter to state Attorney General Jim Hood on Monday, accused Hood of leaking his legal analysis to the Choctaw Indian Tribe. The governor also complained about a story that appeared on The Neshoba Democrat's web site July 17 reporting the memo.
